Attorney Michael TiltonMichael Tilton brings pride and passion to his work as a member of Arnold & Itkin LLP's litigation team. He is relentless in seeking justice for his clients in a broad range of litigation matters, including catastrophic personal injury and workplace injury cases.
Mike was born at Clark Air Force Base in the Philippines, where his father served in the military and his mother worked as a school teacher. Mike's family moved to California and Germany before settling down in San Antonio, Texas.
Mike received his bachelor's degree in Political Science and Psychology from the University of Houston and earned his law degree from the University of Houston Law Center. During law school, he honed his litigation skills as a member of the Interscholastic Moot Court Team and Board of Advocates. Mike also clerked at litigation firms, representing both plaintiffs and defendants in civil cases.
Upon realizing that his true passion was helping families and people tragically injured through the wrongful acts of others, Mike began working at a prominent plaintiff's law firm in Houston and later joined Arnold & Itkin LLP.

$2,250,000 Million Settlement Recovered for Victim of Mexico Truck Accident Jason Itkin and Mike Tilton successfully settled a commercial truck accident case involving a client that suffered severe and debilitating injuries following a collision in Mexico. Arnold & Itkin LLP helped ensure that the case remained in Texas, where the client lived, despite numerous attempts by the defendant to move the case to Mexico.
$1.1 Million Recovered for Jones Act Seamen Injured in Middle East Mike Tilton and Jason Itkin successfully settled a maritime case on behalf of a Jones Act seaman who fractured his elbow and arm. The client suffered the injuries after falling from an unsafe and unsecured ladder. The injury occurred in the Middle East and the lawsuit was filed in Florida. After numerous depositions, including many of the client's treating physicians, the case settled just prior to trial.
$1.1 Million Settlement for Plaintiff Who Fell Off a Ladder The plaintiff was instructed to use a ladder that was not secured and not adequate for the job he was performing with no one to hold the ladder. After falling from the ladder, he needed to have several surgeries on his dominant hand and elbow. His surgeries and hospital stay also led to an MRSA/Staph Infection. The maritime attorneys at Arnold & Itkin secured a $1.1 million settlement on his behalf.

The horrific incident occurred when the cab of a crawler crane sheared away from the crane’s base forcefully ejecting the terrified occupant. The crane operator was lucky to survive. Because the workers’ compensation carrier refused the injury claim and would not pay the plaintiff’s medical bills, Arnold & Itkin LLP helped their client survive during the pendency of the lawsuit. The firm’s innovative approach to establishing liability and circumventing the workers’ compensation bar allowed the plaintiff to recover a substantial award.

Arnold & Itkin LLP's clients suffered herniated discs when an 18-wheeler truck slammed into a sedan driven by the plaintiff. Arnold & Itkin LLP claimed that the driver of the semi-truck caused the accident when she went straight in a "turn only" lane. Even though the plaintiff was cited by police for the accident, Arnold & Itkin LLP were able to show that the defendants were at fault by tracking down several eye witnesses who blamed the driver of the semi-truck for causing the accident.

$750,000 for Victim of Elevator Accident The client was in an elevator when it dropped at a fast rate then bungeed, leaving her caught between floors for 45 minutes. The next day her neck and arm were in pain; the emergency room diagnosed whiplash and shock, and her injuries eventually required surgery. The client hurt his back when he fell approximately three feet while working alone. The defendant refused to pay maintenance and cure because the client failed a post-accident drug screen. As a result of the company's failure to honor its cure obligations, the firm worked hard to make sure our client still received proper medical care. The case settled just days before trial.
