David Baay
A native of Amarillo, Texas, David received his Bachelor of Arts Degree from Vanderbilt University. David went to law school at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas, and upon graduation went to work for Fulbright & Jaworski LLP. During law school, David interned for Judge Emilio Garza with the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit.
In addition to excelling in his trial advocacy classes in law school, David was afforded the highest level of training provided by Fulbright's litigation training program. Early in his career, David received significant trial experience representing healthcare providers and insurance companies in a wide variety of matters in both state and federal court. David successfully represented several hospital corporations as the first chair trial attorney both in settlement negotiations and in the courtroom. In just the last two years, David has tried six cases to verdict with the majority resulting in favorable verdicts. In that same time, he started trial in a seventh case that was settled favorably before the jury delivered its verdict. Recently, he appeared as lead attorney in oral argument before the 9th Court of Appeals of Texas.
David also has significant experience in handling cases involving pharmaceutical liability, product liability, ERISA wrongful denial of benefits claims, judicial review claims invovling workers' compensation disputes, and catastrophic personal injury.
David joined Arnold & Itkin LLP, in May, 2008 and brings with him his considerable trial experience, his passion for practicing law, and his commitment to aggressively pursuing positive results for his clients.
