Lisa Sechelski
Lisa Sechelski is a passionate and aggressive advocate for her clients. Lisa’s interest in litigation began early in her law school career. During her second year of law school, she applied to the University of Houston Law Center Civil Litigation Clinic where she began developing her skills in and out of the courtroom. Lisa participated in her first bench trials as a student attorney under the supervision of the clinic staff attorneys. She participated in numerous hearings and multiple trials and mediations during the year she participated in the clinical program. This experience proved indispensable when she entered private practice. She began her legal career at a large Houston personal injury law firm where she quickly attained status as a partner in the firm.
Lisa’s practice focused on maritime personal injury claims. She has studied this area of the law extensively and her knowledge of the offshore industry makes her a valuable addition to Arnold & Itkin, LLP. Lisa authored a published article on the effects of the growing trend of using forum selection clauses in seamen's contracts.
Lisa was born in Lafayette, Louisiana, but has spent much of her life in the Houston area. She attended the University of Houston where she graduated with Honors with a degree in Psychology and her Juris Doctorate. During law school, Lisa achieved many honors. Her outstanding oratorical skills secured a position for her on the Interscholastic Mock Trial Team as a first year law student. She was a member of the Houston Journal of International Law and served as an Articles Editor on the Journal during her third year. Lisa was awarded the Gus Schill Writing Excellence Award for her Journal submission.
Lisa represents clients in all types of serious personal injury claims.
