Arnold & Itkin filed suit on behalf of a working mother who was hurt in a car accident with an inattentive driver while on her way to her shift. After smashing into our client’s car, the motorist refused to give his insurance information and yelled at our client for trying to document the damage. Not only did his lack of care cause our client harm, but his unprofessional behavior made it even harder for her to advocate for herself at the scene.
Since the collision, our client has suffered from pain in her neck, her back, and her arm. Not only would these injuries make earning a living virtually impossible, but it would make living deeply uncomfortable. Orthopedic injuries are serious challenges for mobility and are often a source of chronic, lifelong issues.
Companies that put drivers behind the wheel must ensure that their drivers are trained to drive safely and, in the event of a collision, follow the normal procedure and exchange insurance information. Failure to do so not only produces unsafe drivers, but may also encourage the kind of inexcusable conduct our client experienced.
We look forward to holding the driver’s employer accountable for his behavior, both behind the wheel and at the scene. The suit was filed in Harris County, Texas.
