18-Wheeler Plows into Disabled Vehicle & Tow Truck, Injuring Father & Son

Our truck accident lawyers have filed suit on behalf of a father and son who were seriously injured when the driver of an 18-wheeler ran into their disabled vehicle on the highway.
Our clients were driving down the highway when the father’s vehicle broke down and stopped. They could not move the vehicle, so the son went to find a tow truck. After the son returned, an 18-wheeler plowed into our client’s vehicle and the tow truck, causing severe damage and injury. Our clients were lucky to escape with their lives, as accidents of this kind have the potential to be fatal. In addition to experiencing the emotional trauma of the incident itself, the father and son experienced shoulder injuries, neck pain, and back pain.
“The hazard lights are not a guarantee that traffic will avoid hitting you,” said Arnold & Itkin’s attorneys in a statement. “You must keep an eye out and try, if at all possible, to take your car off the road.”
When drivers are careless or reckless, they can cause irreparable harm. The damage they cause is far greater when the driver is operating a large commercial truck like an 18-wheeler. That is why trucking companies should ensure that they hire drivers who are experienced and cautious. Hitting a stopped vehicle in this manner only happens when a driver is not paying full attention to the road. Our attorneys will conduct a thorough investigation into this collision to prove who is to blame so our clients can secure the recovery they need and deserve.
We filed this case in Fort Bend County, Texas.
