2 Men Rescued from Collapsed Trench in Houston

- Arnold & Itkin

A trench collapse in Houston left two people trapped on Monday afternoon. They fell approximately 15 feet into the trench just before 3:00 pm local time at a construction site in the 1900 block of Montrose Boulevard near Bomar Street.

The Houston Fire Department rushed to the scene to aid in the rescue; one man managed to escape on his own but was unable to help the other. The HFD worked for about 30 minutes to free the second man, as he was trapped from the waist down in dirt and debris.

The rescued man was transported to the hospital with injuries to his leg; his condition will be monitored.

This isn’t the first trench rescue the Houston Fire Department has responded to in recent months. On a Monday in mid-July 2022, firefighters worked to rescue a utility worker who was trapped for around 2 hours in an 8-foot trench near the 10000 block of N Loop E.

Our construction accident lawyers are following this incident closely and wish both men a speedy recovery.
