Case Filed for Worker Run Over by Forklift

- Arnold & Itkin

Our work injury attorneys have filed suit on behalf of a worker who was run over by a forklift at a jobsite in Laredo, TX. We’re fighting for answers and accountability after this preventable incident.

Forklifts are heavy pieces of machinery that must be properly operated for the safety of every person at a worksite. Forklift operators must exercise extreme caution and must be aware of their surroundings, and job sites themselves must be made safe by using spotters or by designating zones around vehicles and machinery that could cause severe harm by striking a worker.

In this instance, the forklift operator’s view was obstructed by the load he was carrying. Our client, a husband and father, subsequently suffered the trauma of being struck by a heavy piece of machinery while he was attempting to do his job. He suffered leg, ankle, and back injuries as a result and now faces a long road to recovery while still trying to provide for his family.

We will work to show that the defendants’ actions fell far below the standard of acting in a safe, professional, and reasonable manner, including the driver of the forklift and all involved parties.

“Operating a forklift takes training, attention to detail, and a fair amount of safety awareness,” our attorney said in a statement. “Our client was impacted by a forklift when the driver was not properly trained, not properly supervised, and acted in such a way that everyone involved should be embarrassed at the lack of professionalism. I will fight for our client as he suffered as a result of the defendants’ failures.”

We filed this lawsuit in Webb County, Texas.
