A school bus was rear-ended by an 18 wheeler in La Place, Louisiana on May 7. Twenty students were taken to area hospitals. Eight students were injured and the others were examined as a precaution. The bus was making a right turn when a truck pulling an empty trailer hit it from behind. The driver of the 18 wheeler was also taken to the hospital. He was cited for careless operation of a vehicle by state police.
