2013 Ford Focus Recalled for Child Safety Locks

In light of the many new cars that are now on the market due to the start of 2013, manufactures are starting to now notice the problems with their new models. According to reports, about 6,500 people are having their 2013 Ford Focus, C-Max, and Escape vehicles due to a technical problem that could place the life of children at risk. This recall is between the United States and Canada models because they believe that the child lock on the rear left door may have been improperly installed which could result in countless injuries if not death from the impact.

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration report given by a Ford spokesperson, the child lock did not engage as it should. It was created to automatically lock when the car is being driven, and this error means that it needs to be controlled with our hands. At this time, fortunately, Ford has shared that there have been no reports made yet about injuries from the malfunction, yet. The total number of recalls is 5,675 in American and another 859 in Canada. This recall only requires a quick repair to the door latch.

At this time the errors are being investigated, though they are uncertain as to what lead to their product malfunction. In the event that you have owned a vehicle that had product defects and resulted in injuries or wrongful death, it is imperative that you contact a trusted Austin personal injury attorney at Arnold & Itkin LLP in order to fight for the compensation that is rightfully yours.
