Three workers were hospitalized after an explosion and fire erupted at the ONEOK MBC Maintenance plant on State Highway 146 near State Highway 99 in Chambers County, northeast of Houston. The incident occurred around 11 a.m. on Monday, October 6, prompting a swift response from Mont Belvieu Fire Department crews. Officials confirmed that all workers at the site have been accounted for, and the three injured individuals do not appear to have life-threatening injuries.

Firefighters managed to bring the blaze under control, but aerial footage showed extensive damage to parts of the facility. Residents across Mont Belvieu reported feeling the force of the explosion, with some saying their homes shook despite being several miles away.

City officials stated there is currently no threat to the public, and nearby roads have remained open.

According to ONEOK’s website, the company operates roughly 60,000 miles of pipelines that transport natural gas, natural gas liquids, refined products, and crude oil across the United States. Headquartered in Tulsa, Oklahoma, ONEOK maintains multiple facilities in Texas.
