Representing Family After Fatal Commercial Vehicle Crash
Attorneys Kurt Arnold, Claire Schindler, and Chris Adkins filed a lawsuit in Shelby County for the family of a local man who was killed when a negligent commercial vehicle driver failed to yield the right of way and turned when it was unsafe to do so. Our client tragically lost his life due to injuries sustained in this preventable crash and was pronounced dead the following day.
Our client came to the United States in 2022 with his uncle, seeking a better life and new opportunities. He was known as a good, careful driver who understood the rules of the road, having driven in Guatemala before coming to America. His family is now devastated by the loss of a loved one who had his whole future ahead of him.
This tragedy occurred because a commercial driver failed to follow basic traffic safety rules. Yielding the right of way and only turning when it is safe to do so are fundamental responsibilities that every driver learns, and commercial drivers are held to even higher standards due to the size and weight of their vehicles. The commercial transportation company that employed this driver also bears responsibility for putting an unsafe driver on the road. Companies that cut corners on hiring practices, skip proper background checks, or fail to provide adequate training put everyone at risk.
No family should have to endure the pain of losing a loved one to a preventable accident caused by a negligent commercial driver and the company that failed to properly vet and train them. The wrongful death attorneys at Arnold & Itkin intend to fight for justice for this family, holding both the reckless commercial driver and the transportation company accountable for the carelessness that cost our client his life.
