Arnold & Itkin LLP has filed suit against Union Pacific Railroad Company in San Bernardino County, California after the railroad caused a young man to suffer a serious shoulder injury due to negligence. Sadly, Union Pacific has been laying off workers recently and asking the ones who stay to take on more work for less pay and greater risk of injury. Our client has had to undergo shoulder surgery because the extra work Union Pacific demanded of him caused him to get hurt.
When you’re a worker in a physically demanding occupation, a physical injury is a threat to your livelihood and your future stability. The loss of mobility that might come from a shoulder injury like our client’s won’t just affect his comfort; it’ll affect his entire quality of life, from the medical care he can afford to the life he’ll be able to live 10 or 20 years from now. Our job is to make sure Union Pacific accounts for these serious costs as we fight for a full recovery on his behalf.
There’s no excuse for a company like Union Pacific to cut safety in addition to cutting people’s jobs. Arnold & Itkin looks forward to holding it responsible.
