James Long

James Long's Headshot
As a former naval officer, James Long's dedication to fighting for the rights of injured individuals and their families is not just a professional commitment but a deeply personal one. His trial law practice, which focuses on matters involving catastrophic personal injury, is undeterred by complex or challenging circumstances.

“I’ve been on the other side representing the interests of the world’s largest corporations where legal battles are merely a line item in the budget, just a cost of doing business. But for our team at Arnold & Itkin, it’s deeply personal. It’s not just about settlements or verdicts; it’s about standing up for what’s right and making a tangible difference in the lives of the people we serve—no matter what.”

James’s early career was spent at a globally renowned law firm with offices across multiple countries where he developed his skills advocating on behalf of corporations and eventually became a partner. After spending more than six years working for corporate interests, James made a significant shift. He realized that his true passion lay in helping individuals achieve justice, leading him to seek a high-performance trial firm like Arnold & Itkin dedicated to helping injured people receive the compensation they deserve.

James grew up in Newnan, Georgia, and is the oldest of six children. After graduating from the United States Naval Academy and fulfilling his service obligation as a naval officer, he worked in China, where he became fluent in Mandarin. From there, James enrolled at Tulane Law School to get his law degree. While at Tulane, James participated in trial advocacy and interned for the Honorable Lee Rosenthal and the Honorable Eldon E. Fallon.

James, a resident of Houston, Texas, is not just a skilled trial attorney. When he is not at work, James enjoys spending time with his wife and two children and is very involved with his community.

He is licensed to practice in Texas and New York.
