College Baseball Player Critically Injured in Truck Accident

Attorneys Kurt Arnold and Adam Lewis filed suit last month on behalf of a college baseball player who was injured in a catastrophic accident involving an 18-wheeler truck.

Our client’s car was broken down on the side of US 59 in Polk County, Texas, with responding officers already on the scene. The driver of a big rig, owned and operated by Chassisslink, lost control of the truck while driving at unsafe speeds down the highway and entered the median.

Although the truck narrowly missed hitting our client and the officers, the driver crashed into a highway light pole that ultimately struck our client, leaving him with life-threatening injuries. He was transported for critical treatment and is scheduled to undergo emergency surgery.

Truck companies like Chassisslink are responsible for the safe operation of their vehicles at all times. This includes ensuring that all truck drivers receive proper training and keeping the trucks in working condition. Reckless driving, especially at high speeds, isn’t safe no matter the vehicle, but 18-wheeler trucks are especially dangerous due to their immense size.

Unfortunately, these types of careless acts are a common cause of serious accidents involving commercial drivers on highways. Arnold & Itkin is proud to represent our client and will fight tirelessly to help curb these dangerous driving practices by trucking companies in Texas.

This lawsuit was filed in Harris County, Texas.
