$5.5 Million Verdict Won for Commercial Trucker

Our firm is pleased to announce that Attorneys Adam Lewis and John Grinnan won a verdict in excess of $5.5 million for a commercial truck driver in Wayne County, Michigan. Our client was severely injured when another trucker swerved out of his lane without warning, striking our client’s rig in a massive sideswipe collision. He was hospitalized for three days in facilities throughout Ohio and Michigan before he was able to return home to Richmond, Texas.

Our client suffered a traumatic brain injury and spinal injury. He received extensive conservative treatment, but his injuries ultimately prevented him from continuing to work. The defendant argued that our client was lying about the pain and suffering he’d endured. Despite their conviction that our client was dishonest, the defendant offered $150,000 to get our client to withdraw his claim.

Instead, our firm took the case to court. We took nine depositions to prepare the case and tried it over two and a half weeks. After only two days of deliberation, the jury awarded our client over $5.5 million in economic and noneconomic damages.

“We are extremely proud of this verdict,” Attorney Adam Lewis said. “However, it is even more gratifying knowing that we were able to help our client through some of the toughest times of his life.”
