Helping Deckhand Injured on the Mississippi River

Arnold & Itkin is currently representing a Jones Act seaman who was severely injured while working on a barge.
Our client, who was working as a deckhand at the time of the incident, was following the captain’s instructions. He and the crew were instructed to undergo an unsafe operation, and our client was injured as a result. When companies and their high-level employees fail to take the safety of their crews into account, people get hurt. Sadly, for our client, that is exactly what occurred this October on the Mississippi River. Our team will work to hold those responsible for this life-altering event fully accountable for their actions.
“I am excited to help Mr. Bates in his Jones Act case,” said one of our maritime attorneys in a statement. “Mr. Bates is a hard-working and dedicated man who was put in an unfortunate and unsafe position. I look forward to helping him seek justice in his case.”
