Case Filed for Refinery Worker Injured Due to Improper Procedure

Arnold & Itkin attorneys Jason Itkin and Trent Shelton have filed suit on behalf of an injured plant worker in Mississippi.

Our client was working at a Citgo plant when he injured his back lifting heavy items. According to Citgo's policy, there should have been forklifts to assist with the lifting, but at the time there were no employees to run said forklifts. Therefore, our client should not have been ordered to lift those heavy items, not until a forklift operator was available. Instead, he is now suffering from lower back pain. We look forward to holding Citgo responsible for their actions.

"Far too often we see companies cutting corners to save money. This accident was no different. Citgo wanted the job finished and refused to wait until the next day, when there would be employees to operate the required forklifts. We look forward to the fight in seeking justice for our client," our attorneys said in a statement.

This case was filed in Harris County.
