Suit Filed for a Worker Badly Hurt in a Preventable Wellsite Fire
Arnold & Itkin filed suit in Santa Fe County, New Mexico on behalf of a man who suffered severe burns and a traumatic brain injury when a fire erupted at the wellsite where he was working. With flames spreading rapidly, and working at an elevated height on a catwalk, his only escape was to jump, resulting in catastrophic injuries to his neck, back, and head, in addition to the burn injuries caused by the fire itself.
Fires are a known risk in oil and gas operations, especially when combustible materials and faulty equipment are involved. Proper maintenance, inspections, and safety protocols are critical to preventing flash fires.
Arnold & Itkin is relentless when companies fail their workers. Our oilfield attorneys looks forward to investigating the equipment failures, safety lapses, and negligent practices that created these conditions and fighting for the best possible outcome for their client.
As the lead attorney on the case, Roland Christensen, explained, “Safety steps, including servicing and maintaining the equipment at worksites, have to be taken seriously or serious injuries occur. Our team refuses to be outworked in our fight for justice, and I look forward to fighting on behalf of our client to get the best possible result, no matter what.”
