Suit Filed for Lineman Badly Burned in Electrocution Incident

Attorneys Noah Wexler, Trevor Courtney, Danny Cassee, Foster Willie, and Hall Sasnett filed suit in Dallas County against Oncor Electrical on behalf of a lineman who suffered catastrophic injuries due to the company’s negligence.

Our client, an experienced electrician lineman, was working on a defective transformer that Oncor’s employees had failed to properly power down. As a result of this fundamental safety failure, he was subjected to a violent electrocution that caused second- and third-degree burns to 30% of his body, including his feet, chest, back, and left forearm. These painful and life-altering burns require extensive treatment and have permanently changed his ability to work and live comfortably.

This incident was entirely preventable. Electrical utilities have some of the highest safety obligations in the industry because the consequences of cutting corners are severe. Oncor’s failure to follow essential protocols put our client directly in harm’s way.

Arnold & Itkin’s work injury attorneys are honored to represent this hardworking man and is committed to holding Oncor accountable for its dangerous practices while securing the compensation he needs to rebuild his life.

Speaking on this case, Noah Wexler said, “Improperly maintaining electrical equipment and failing to ensure safe work practices with live electricity causes serious and injury and deaths all around our country. We will work hard to seek justice for our client who has had a devastating and horrific burn injury."
