Drunk driving accidents are tragic because they almost always end in serious injury or death. If you or a loved one were injured in a drunk driving accident you are likely entitled to compensation. A driver who is driving under the influence is performing a negligent act, and can be prosecuted as such. A drunk driver can also be charged with wrongful death by surviving family members. Victims of drunk driving accidents are absolutely entitled to compensation because they are typically innocent bystanders, such as in this case. The man charged with the DUI has little help in his favor and will likely be convicted.
