Arnold & Itkin was recently involved in a major land and oil and gas lawsuit. Our firm represented a landowner from South Louisiana who noticed some potential damage on their land. They contacted our firm after discovering several buried rusty pipes and numerous patches of missing grass close to former oil and gas operations. Attorneys Kurt Arnold and Kyle Findley hired experts to come and assess the damage. They took soil samples and studied historical photographs of the area to determine if the missing patches were related to the oil pits that numerous companies had created and used many years ago.
We filed the case on their behalf in Cameron Parish against the companies for the oil and gas operations that were believed to cause the property damage. The defendants moved the case to the United States District Court in the Western District of Louisiana, Lake Charles Division; however, they settled while the claim was still pending in federal court. Arnold & Itkin was able to negotiate a $2.375 million dollar settlement on behalf of the landowner's property damage claims. We were honored help our client fight for fair damages.
