Industrial injury attorneys for Arnold & Itkin have filed a lawsuit on behalf of a rig worker who was injured while working in Mississippi. Following an oil spill, the plaintiff, who is a resident of Louisiana, was working on the Blackstone oil rig that is owned and operated by Halcon Resources Corporation and Halcon Resources Operating, Inc.
The lawsuit alleges that the defendant is liable for these injuries because it failed to provide a safe workplace for its employees, failed to adequately clean up the oil spill, and failed to warn employees of the hazardous condition.
The lawsuit was filed in Harris County, Texas. Attorneys Jason Itkin, Cory Itkin, Noah Wexler, and Kelly Woods are representing the injured rig worker.
The Blackstone oil rig is a relatively new rig that has begun drilling on the Tuscaloosa Marine shale, which spans across the southern portion of Louisiana and Mississippi. With the recent explosion in hydraulic fracturing (or fracking), the shale has gained renewed interest by drilling companies.
