Case Filed On Behalf of San Marcos Apartment Fire Victim

Arnold & Itkin LLP attorneys Kurt Arnold, Kyle Findley, Kala Sellers, and Adam Lewis filed a lawsuit on behalf of an individual who lost his life in the tragic fire. A fire broke out on July 20 at the Iconic Village Apartments in San Marcos, Texas. The blaze burnt the apartment, which was built in the 1970s, and quickly spread to the neighboring Vintage Pad Apartments. Five people, including our client, lost their lives as a result of the blaze.

The lawsuit was filed in Travis County against the apartment owner and the apartment operator and manager. Sadly, many survivors of the fire have reported that smoke detectors throughout the complex were inoperable and failed to give residents adequate warning so they escape the fire. We intend to hold both parties accountable for this tragedy—a tragedy that could have been avoided by maintaining basic safety systems. Profits should never take precedence over the lives and safety of others, especially housing companies.

Arnold & Itkin LLP will fight to hold these careless companies responsible for cutting corners to maximize profit—endangering their residents.
