Arnold & Itkin LLP recently filed a lawsuit on behalf of a worker who suffered injuries while working on a land rig near the Midland/Odessa area. He was performing work on the derrick when he fell from a significant height. Because another worker failed to lock a key component, our client suffered a fall of approximately 20 feet. As a result, he suffered catastrophic injuries that have required extensive surgery.
Falls from a height are some of the most common and most fatal types of work accidents. Falls like the one our client suffered often result in lifelong injuries, require a change of career, and come with long recovery times. Ultimately, it's the employer who must protect workers from falls, either through better equipment maintenance or better training for other employees. We believe this accident was preventable, which is why we're fighting to make those at fault pay for our client's medical care, lost wages, and other losses.
Arnold & Itkin looks forward to helping another injured worker get the compensation he deserves and the medical treatment he needs.
The case was filed in Harris County, Texas.
