Arnold & Itkin's wrongful death lawyers are proud to serve the law enforcement community by filing suit on behalf of the widow of a Travis County Sherriff's senior deputy. Our client’s husband was killed when a reckless driver plowed into his vehicle at a high speed, causing it to fly over a guardrail and down a steep embankment. The deputy was pronounced dead at the scene of the incident.
Now, the reckless driver is under investigation for manslaughter. According to the investigating officer, the driver had four high-alcohol beverages the night before the early morning crash. He was also on allergy and blood pressure medications at the time of the incident. An accident reconstruction performed by law enforcement officials revealed that the driver was traveling over 80 miles per hour in a 60 mile-per-hour zone when he lost control and flew into the deputy’s lane of traffic going the opposite direction.
This deputy’s untimely death and the devastation it caused to his loved ones shows the tragic consequences created by unsafe drivers. No family deserves to lose a loved one because of a person’s failure to follow basic traffic safety rules. Now, Arnold & Itkin will fight for the recovery that this widow deserves. We’ll work to honor this man’s legacy and help his mourning wife move forward after such a tragic accident.
