1 Killed, 1 Injured in Blackwell Oil Rig Accident

Tragedy struck Blackwell, Oklahoma on Wednesday. Authorities are reporting that one person was killed and another was injured when an oil rig truck tipped over in Kay County on Wednesday afternoon. Both were extracted from the scene, and the injured person was transported to a local hospital. The cause of the wreck is unknown at this time, but some suspect that the wind may have blown the truck over.

This accident comes mere months after two separate incidents at oilfields in Oklahoma injured at least three workers in January.

Oil rig workers operate in one of the most dangerous workplaces in the country. However, everyone has the right to feel safe at work, especially industrial workers. Oil companies are responsible for keeping their employees safe and for taking care of them when the unthinkable happens.

OSHA has joined the Oklahoma Highway Patrol in investigating the fatal scene. Our oil rig accident lawyers are following this case closely and hope to see justice served on behalf of the victims of this accident.
