Truck accident lawyers at Arnold & Itkin filed suit today on behalf of a professional driver who was injured while delivering a wrought-iron door. On his way to the customer, a large truck transporting used cooking grease failed to stay in its lane and slammed into our client at high speed, shearing our client’s trailer hitch completely off. The trailer, now hanging on by only two chains, sent the rear wheels of our client’s truck out of control. Luckily, he was able to stop his truck and his trailer without flipping. However, the driver of the grease truck was unable to keep control and rolled his truck onto its side. As a result, our client suffered severe injuries to his head, back, and neck.
Professional drivers carry a heavier responsibility than other drivers. Their vehicles are larger and more powerful, and they’re often carrying serious hazards. That’s why companies are obligated to hire and train the safest, most responsible drivers they can. Our client showed why he deserves to be behind the wheel of a commercial vehicle; the defendant’s employee did not. This was an avoidable collision, and our trucking lawyers look forward to holding the at-fault company responsible for the needless harm they caused.
The lawsuit was filed in Dallas County, Texas.
