2 Killed in Helicopter Accident Near South Lafourche Levee System

- Arnold & Itkin

Authorities have confirmed that two people lost their lives in a helicopter crash on the west side of the South Lafourche Levee System near Larose, Louisiana on Friday morning.

It was a nearby citizen who saw the helicopter go down and called local authorities for help. Search crews located the helicopter in the marsh, but muddy conditions made it difficult to access the wreckage and begin rescue efforts.

According to Lafourche Parish President Archie Chaisson, no survivors have been found. Two people were aboard the helicopter when it crashed: the pilot and one passenger. Their names have not yet been released.

Crews are still working to recover the wreckage, and the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) will be working with local authorities to determine the cause of the accident.

Our hearts go out to the victims’ families. We hope the authorities find answers that offer insight into what caused the crash in the first place, and our Louisiana helicopter accident attorneys will continue to follow this story as details emerge.
