Case Filed for HVAC Technician Injured at Walgreens
Arnold & Itkin recently filed suit on behalf of a Texas HVAC technician who suffered catastrophic injuries after a fall of 20 to 25 feet at a local Walgreens.
Our client was performing HVAC work at the Walgreens location, climbing a ladder in the course of his duties, when a railing that had been improperly maintained gave way beneath him. He fell more than two stories. The injuries he sustained reflect the full, brutal reality of that fall: fractures to his L1 through L5 vertebrae, fractures to his pelvis and ribs, a broken wrist, and a torn left rotator cuff with tendons pulled entirely off the bone. These are life-altering injuries that will require extensive treatment, prolonged recovery, and carry lasting consequences for everything he does going forward.
Walgreens invited this man onto their property to perform work on their behalf. That invitation came with a responsibility, one that the company failed to honor. A dangerous railing doesn't fail without warning signs. Proper maintenance and basic safety oversight exist precisely to catch and correct these hazards before someone gets hurt. Walgreens chose not to act, and our client paid for that choice with his physical and mental health.
As attorney Noah Wexler put it: "Companies have a responsibility to ensure their premises are free from dangerous conditions, especially when requiring work around those conditions. In this case, Walgreens failed to keep their premises safe, and my client paid the price. This never should have happened. Walgreens must be held accountable for choosing convenience over safety."
Our work injury attorneys are proud to represent this man and will not stop fighting until Walgreens faces full accountability for the harm this negligence caused.
