Pallet Jack Brake Failure Injures H.E.B. Warehouse Worker
Attorneys at Arnold & Itkin, led by Trent Shelton, have filed suit in Harris County, Texas, on behalf of a warehouse worker against H. E. Butt Grocery Company. In November 2025, our client was operating a motorized pallet jack at an H.E.B. warehouse in Houston, Texas, when the emergency brake failed, causing the machine to catch her right foot, leaving her with serious fractures and ongoing disability.
Emergency brakes exist on heavy equipment like pallet jacks for exactly the kind of moment our client experienced. When that safety feature fails, workers are left with no way to protect themselves from equipment that outweighs them many times over. Our client is now living with lasting disability because equipment that she trusted to work properly did not.
The lawsuit alleges negligence and gross negligence for H.E.B.'s failure to maintain safe equipment and provide a safe work environment. Our workplace injury attorneys are pursuing full accountability on behalf of our client for the harm that this equipment failure has caused her.
