Commercial Driver Causes Severe Injuries & Costs Client a Job

Attorneys Kurt Arnold, Claire Schindler, and Chris Adkins filed suit today in Davidson County, North Carolina on behalf of a local woman who was severely injured when a negligent commercial motor vehicle driver failed to yield the right of way at a stop light. Because this commercial driver was reckless, inattentive, and violated traffic rules, our client suffered severe injuries to her head, neck, low back, right knee, right hip, and other parts of her body that have already required invasive and extensive medical treatment.

Our client was on her way to start a new job as an outbound sales agent for health equipment when the crash occurred. That job opportunity was revoked because of the collision, adding financial hardship to an already painful recovery.

Since the crash, our client continues to suffer from a fractured vertebra in her neck that requires her to wear a brace for months. She also still has bruising across her left side, knee and thigh pain, back pain, and a persistent pulling sensation on the right side of her neck. She also experiences shooting lights and pain in her left eye when looking toward her peripheral vision.

Commercial drivers are required to yield the right of way when the law demands it, and this driver's failure to do so has upended nearly every part of our client's life. The driver’s employer is also accountable for this preventable and devastating crash.
