Representing Sanitation Worker Injured in Fall from Trash Compactor Platform

The Arnold & Itkin legal team has filed suit in Bexar County against H-E-B, LP and Waste Management of Texas, Inc. for a workplace injury that occurred around June 27, 2025, on H-E-B’s premises.

Our client was working as a sanitation worker and was standing on a platform that connected to a trash compactor while dumping trash. A Waste Management employee then drove away with the compactor while it remained connected to the platform, causing our client to fall. He suffered serious back injuries and a gash across his leg from the metal platform.

If the employee had been properly trained on how and when to operate machinery, then this scary and disastrous accident could have been avoided. However, the employers in this case failed to provide the training and communication protocols that would have created the safe working environment that our client was owed. This duty to provide an environment free of known hazards is especially important when it comes to heavy equipment like trash compactors.

The work injury attorneys at Arnold & Itkin are committed to pursuing accountability from H-E-B and Waste Management of Texas for the injuries that our client has suffered.
