Suit Filed After Restaurant Cook Injured by Uncovered Floor Drain

The Arnold & Itkin team, headed by Trent Shelton, filed suit in Harris County, Texas, against Pappas Restaurants, Inc., operator of On the Border, after our client tripped and fell when her foot caught in an uncovered floor drain. Our client was injured while working as a cook in the restaurant's kitchen in Parker County, Texas.

Restaurant kitchens are fast-paced environments where staff need to move quickly and safely between stations. An uncovered floor drain in that kind of space is a hazard that should never be left unaddressed, and our client paid the price when her foot caught in the drain opening during her shift.

Our workplace injury attorneys are pursuing full accountability for the injuries our client suffered, going after Pappas Restaurants, Inc., an employer that does not subscribe to workers’ compensation insurance and that failed to maintain safe conditions in its kitchen.
