Irving Personal Injury Lawsuits: Compensation & Liability

A personal injury lawsuit offers an accident survivor an invaluable opportunity to seek compensation for the harm they have experienced—from the party or parties that were responsible. This legal process can involve individuals, companies, or even government entities, depending on who was at fault. For instance, in the case of a car accident, the driver at fault can be sued. In other scenarios, such as when a defective product causes harm, the manufacturer could be liable. Understanding who is legally responsible in your specific case is crucial for determining how to proceed.

In terms of compensation, personal injury lawsuits can recover various types of damages, depending on the severity and impact of the injury. These may include:

  • Medical Expenses: Covers both current and future medical treatments related to the injury.
  • Lost Wages: Compensates for earnings lost, including future wages if the ability to work is affected long-term.
  • Pain and Suffering: Accounts for physical discomfort and emotional distress caused by the injury.
  • Punitive Damages: Awarded to punish especially harmful behavior and deter similar conduct in the future.

Navigating a personal injury claim can be challenging, which is why it's beneficial to consult with a skilled Irving personal injury attorney. They can help clarify the legal options available and work to secure the maximum compensation possible from the individuals or corporations that caused your injuries. By understanding your rights and the compensation you may be entitled to, you can make informed decisions about how to move forward.

Our personal injury lawyers help after serious injuries such as:

Catastrophic injuries change a person's life. They have tremendous physical, mental, and financial effects that will be felt for years to come, and recovering can be difficult. Some injuries are so severe that they cause permanent disabilities, scarring, or disfigurement. Trying to move on with one's life after a serious injury can seem impossible, but the right treatment and support can make a significant difference. That is the purpose of a personal injury claim: to help a person put their life back on track by providing the financial compensation it takes to do so.

As Irving personal injury lawyers, we help the seriously injured and their families get answers and recover just compensation after accidents and injuries caused by negligence, defective products, and wrongful acts.

Irving Work Injury Lawyers

You should not have to worry about your health or your very life every time you go to work, but for some people, work is a dangerous place. This is particularly true for construction, oilfield, plant, factory, and refinery workers. A single lapse could cause a serious or fatal accident.

As Irving work injury lawyers, we help people who have been injured on the job or who have lost loved ones in work-related accidents. We know there are inherent hazards at most industrial worksites, but employers are required to take measures that minimize these risks and protect their employees. When employers do not implement proper safety practices, our trial attorneys take action and stand up for those who have been injured.

We are proud to help workers and families in the Irving area get recoveries that provide for their medical care, lost earnings, and other losses or injuries—for life.

Common Questions

  • How Can an Irving Personal Injury Law Firm Help?

Our personal injury attorneys are always focused on making sure our clients have the financial means to recover from an accident. This means seeking compensation for obvious damages such as medical bills, lost wages, and any other loss caused by an accident. It also means seeking compensation for less obvious damages such as physical and emotional suffering, the cost of future care, lost earning capacity, and much more. We approach every case with the unique attention it deserves to make sure we’re acting in the best interests of the people who are trusting us to make a difference for them.
  • Should I Hire a Personal Injury Lawyer If My Loved One Was Killed?

Yes, family members of those killed by the negligence of another person might be able file a wrongful death claim. When helping grieving families, our Irving wrongful death lawyers work to help them with financial issues such as funeral expenses, medical bills, loss of consortium, lost income, and much more.
  • Can I Sue for My Injuries?

If another party could have prevented your injuries yet failed to do so, you might be able to file a personal injury claim. Importantly, this is true even if you might be partially at fault for your accident or injuries. The best way to find out if you have a claim is by calling our Irving personal injury law firm at (888) 493-1629 for a free and confidential consultation. It comes with no obligations and will help you discover your options for recovery.
  • What Is My Case Worth?

Every case is unique. The value of yours will depend on how severely you were injured and what impact these injuries have had and will have on all aspects of your life. You could be entitled to compensation for medical care, lost earnings, emotional trauma, and possibly more. The jurisdiction and who is at fault can also affect the value of an Irving personal injury case, but an attorney can determine its potential worth based on these and other factors.

  • What Is the Contingency Fee for an Irving Personal Injury Lawyer?

Our firm handles personal injury cases on contingency, which means that we only get paid if our client does. We also charge no upfront costs or fees, making it as easy as possible for our clients to get the experienced legal counsel they need. We only get paid once we win a verdict or negotiate a settlement for our clients.
  • Is There a Time Limit for Personal Injury Cases in Texas?

There is a two-year statute of limitations on personal injury lawsuits in Texas. This means that you have two years from the date of an accident or injury to come forward with a case, or you could lose your right to come forward altogether. There are some exceptions to this rule, however. If a minor is injured, they will have 2 years from their 18th birthday to come forward. If an injury or illness is not discovered until a later date than when the act of negligence or wrongdoing occurred, the injured party may have two years from the date of its discovery to file suit. Because every situation is different, it's important to talk to your lawyer about what may apply to your case.
