Family Sues Trucking Company After Driver Dies from Heat Stroke

Led by Cory Itkin, Arnold & Itkin's lawyers have filed a lawsuit on behalf of the family of a Conroe, Texas truck driver who died from heat stroke. The truck driver’s employer, Missouri-based Tri-National (TNI), had given him a tractor-trailer with broken air conditioning and forced him to drive in the summer.

Truck cabs without working air conditioning can become dangerously hot within minutes, especially during summer heat. Our client had no way to escape that heat while driving the truck his employer assigned him, and the consequences proved fatal. The incident occurred while he was at a GE facility in Grand Prairie, Texas, and he battled his injuries for 10 days before ultimately succumbing to them.

Trucking companies have a basic responsibility to ensure the vehicles they put their drivers in are safe to operate, and that includes functioning climate control during extreme weather. When that responsibility is ignored, drivers are left exposed to life-threatening conditions with no way to protect themselves.
