Pearland Catastrophic Injury Lawyers: Handling Cases of Burn Injuries & More
When accidents result in catastrophic, life-changing injuries, Arnold & Itkin is there to help. From traumatic brain injuries to burn injuries to amputations, we have been there throughout Texas and nationwide to help our clients fight for the compensation they need. We have recovered more than $15 billion in that time, setting numerous records and making historic wins for our clients—no matter what.
For example, our catastrophic injury attorneys set a Louisiana state record when we represented a pregnant woman hurt in an ambulance accident. Her spine was severed and she suffered severe brain injuries after the ambulance driver drove into the back of a sugar cane truck. We took on the case and won a $117 million verdict. Our Pearland burn injury attorneys have also set Texas state records in burn cases—multiple times. We first set the record with an $87 million settlement on behalf of a man who was burned while working at a refinery. We then broke that record ourselves with a $92.7 million settlement for another client burned in a workplace accident. In all of these cases, we have done everything we can to ensure our clients are taken care of for life.

About Pearland, TX
Located in Brazoria County in Texas, Pearland is a key city in the Houston-The Woodlands-Sugar Land metropolitan area. The city’s population was estimated at 125,990 as of July 2021 and had a total land area of 47.02 square miles, according to the U.S. Census Bureau. Pearland has experienced a considerable amount of growth in the past decades and was ranked as the second-fastest growing city in Texas from 2000 through 2010.
Pearland was first settled in 1882 near a siding (low-speed section of a railroad track) along the Gulf, Colorado and Santa Fe Railway. The community was first named Mark Belt but in 1894, a man named Witold von Zychlinski filed a plat called “Pear-Land” with the Brazoria County courthouse. He had named it such because of the pear trees in the area, and the town soon became known as Pearland. Pearland’s early residents harvested a wide variety of fruits and vegetables, and it was promoted as an “agricultural Eden.” In 1900 and again in 1915, however, hurricanes struck the region and decimated most of Pearland’s fruit trees. The city tried to rebuild, but a devastating freeze struck in 1918. It wasn’t until the 1930s that the area started to see real recovery and growth.
Today, Pearland serves as a home for many people who commute to nearby employment centers, including Texas Medical Center and NASA at the Lyndon B. Johnson Space Center. Medical companies have sought Pearland as an attractive location for headquarters and other facilities, such as Kelsey-Seybold Clinic’s administrative building Cardiovascular Systems, and Merit Medical Systems. The top five employers in Pearland are the Pearland Independent School District, Kelsey Seybold Clinic, City of Pearland, Alvin Independent School District, and Memorial Hermann Pearland Hospital.
Some of the top attractions in Pearland include the Sri Meenakshi Temple, which was built in 1979 and has expanded to over 23 acres, the Gulf, Colorado and Santa Fe Railroad Depot, which was built in 1900 and played a significant role in the city’s initial development, Old Settler’s Cemetery, and John Hargrove Environmental Complex & Wetlands, which boasts many varieties of local flora and fauna and is a top birdwatching spot. There’s even the Mary's Creek Edible Fruit Trail that is lined with fruit trees that visitors can sample as they go along.
