Kurt Arnold Named 2027 “Lawyer of the Year” for Mass Tort Litigation/Class Actions

Much of Kurt’s practice involves representing groups of clients affected by the same disaster or product, cases that require managing complex litigation on behalf of many plaintiffs at once. When the Deepwater Horizon rig exploded in 2010, killing eleven workers and injuring dozens more, 27 of the men and women aboard chose Kurt as their lawyer, more than any other attorney in the country. He has since led litigation on behalf of workers and families affected by plant explosions, defective products, and corporate negligence involving large groups of claimants.

Kurt has recovered more than $25 billion in verdicts and settlements for his clients, and has won more than $1 billion in a single year several times. His record includes the largest workplace accident settlement in Texas history at $357.7 million, a $205 million confidential settlement, a $193 million settlement for two men injured offshore that stands as the largest of its kind in U.S. history, and a $185 million settlement for seamen injured during a severe weather event at sea.
