Florida Woman Assaulted Aboard MSC Cruise Ship
Arnold & Itkin has filed suit on behalf of a Florida woman who was sexually assaulted while aboard an MSC cruise ship after being purposefully overserved alcohol.
What was supposed to be a relaxing vacation turned into the worst nightmare imaginable when our client became the victim of a predatory crew member who took advantage of her impaired state.
The lawsuit alleges that MSC’s negligent hiring and staffing practices allowed this individual to be placed in a position of trust and access, and that inadequate oversight of alcohol service on board created the exact conditions that led to this assault.
Cruise lines have a fundamental duty to protect the safety of their passengers, both by carefully screening the crew members that they hire, and by monitoring how much alcohol is served to guests. When cruise lines fail in these duties, passengers are left vulnerable to exactly the kind of harm that our client suffered
Arnold & Itkin is honored to stand up for survivors of sexual assault and is determined to hold MSC and any other cruise lines accountable for negligent hiring and staffing practices that put profit ahead of passenger safety. Our client deserves justice, and we are committed to pursuing full accountability on her behalf.
